The Weather
« on: July 07, 2012, 10:46:44 AM »
It Would be great to hear how the weather is around the world. As i am fed up with our weather. We had a lovely end to March and we were all put on drought restrictions in early April and from then on it hasn`t stopped raining. I think if it doesn`t stop soon all the Olympic events will involve swimming.

We are getting some good rains, apart from the bad storm the other week its a good mix of warm sunny days, with the norm, winter cold fronts bringing the state some good rains. I am off on another around OZ trip soon, so we will be in the 30+ weather. end of winter for us soon.

Weather is very mixed down here in Victoria: plenty of rain; some very severe frosts and also - as this weekend - sunshine and mild temperatures.

Splinter, my friend in Brockley has told me all about the rain over there.  She thinks it's never going to stop!

We might make 15C today, rain tomorrow so hopefully a bit warmer, not ozzie weather, I think we must be drifting toward the South Pole. or is it all this mining with big holes being dug in the ground and tranporting it to the top end of the world, making the world tip on its axes?? ha! ha! looks like London might be in the same boat only going north. Watching the tour de France the weather looks better.

Watched a little of the Tour de France and it did look warm - and a lot of hard work.  Beautiful scenery.

We are finally getting some heat in July here in the Canadian Rockies, but we had a really cold and wet June, i think it must have rained 26 days out of 30, we had a bit of high water in the river, more so downstream, after a record snowpack over the winter, we still have to have some more runoff so the river will come up again, a couple of weeks a go the Bow Falls was very high and a couple of kayakers decided to take a chance to ride the falls, they made it over (luckily) it 's not recommended, but it's been done a few times over the years, most notably in the 1950's when they made the movie- The River of no Return- starring Marilyn Monroe & Robert Mitchum.(little bit of trivia for the morning)

Hi Splinter,You should be in France I'm at the present watching the Tour de France, keeps me and the wife up till midnight every night of the races, and the weather has been great for the race. We are into some very cold mornings 2-3C but day time around the 18-21c mark, some rain early next week, we are well below our July average. I hoping to be off in a couple of weeks for another trip around Oz. North first 25-35c currently there, then down the middle (Alice Springs) then hopefully will be into spring summer weather. For the rest of the trip

I have a friend flying to Perth on Monday, he has a house somewhere near. I think he is hoping for some dry weather.
