Pendragon Road School

Some sad news i am afraid. Pendragon School has been knocked down. They have put screens up so i could not see the full extent and i am not sure what is going to be built in its place. Another piece of my childhood gone !!
Born in Pendragon Road 1954 Family lived in house since 1935 Bought in 1970/1 Still own it.

Mine too!  I am heartsick!  Isn't is amazing how we all think these things are going to be there forever, just waiting for us to make the sentimental visit 'one of these days'.  Gosh, there's definitely no point in my ever going back to see Downham again: no swimming pool or library; no old school; no Downham Tavern (old one), and not even my old home in Durham Hill remains.  How very sad it is - but thanks for letting us know, Splinter.
