I wonder if kids still play some of the school games that we did during our secondary school days?

The game of cricket played with a text book was a favorite of mine and often got me and others into trouble during class for not paying attention.

If I recall, to play, each player listed his best eleven team players on a piece of paper. The opposing player turned the pages of a text book and read the letter of the alphabet on the first line on the top right hand page as a play... ie. L= LBW, C=Caught, S=Stumped, B= Bowled etc. etc. A letter was designated for four runs and another for six. All other letters were one run each.

The object of the game was to 'Get out' the other team by randomly openeing the text book and recording the score on your piece of paper. At the same time not getting caught by the teacher!

Happy Days!   ............   Graham.
