I looked up Mallory on Google Street View, very specky now that it's Haberdashers Askes.  What a shame the name Mallory was dropped.  It went with all the other names on the estate.  Mallory being the writer of the Knights of the Rountable.
I never went to Mallory - after my time (most things are these days).  But our house backed onto it, and I do remember the building and the mess it made. I don't remember the balloon - before my time (yippee).
Born 1944 in Geraint Road.  Launcelot and Churchdown Schools.  Moved to Western Australia in 1988.
Two children, 6 grandchildren, 3 dogs, hundreds of snakes, spiders and lizards.

One of the Churchdown sports days was held on the ground there before Mallory was built.  When on earth did it become part of Haberdasher Askes?
