Not sure what a shogun is, mine is a Nissan Patrol 3L diesel, and we do go off road at times and crossed a river or two, which i would not dream of with an standard car. Our weather is great most of the time for bikes and 4x4 stuff mind you its been a bit hot the pass few weeks 30 and 40 plus at times. Yes I remember them days doing the mad mile and through the Dutch House Bend, I always wore a helmet, I was to mad to not too.  My Helmet was painted black with a checkered flag and Union Jack made up into a type of coat of arms and red lightning flashes on the sides. I always wanted a Jag but missed out. My bike was a Triumph 3T 1948 and had clip on's at one stage.

Another cafe which I use to use a lot, was just over Catford Bridge on the left just passed a car yard near the Forest Hill turn off. The Greek Cyps who own it were great people, we had a lot of fun with them. I brought my first car a "Ford Y" complete with running boards from the dealer further pass the cafe on the same side. soon after that I joined the army with service in Wales and spent 3.5 years in Germany Paderborn/Nienburg 1960/64. By then my parents had moved to No16 Brangbourne Flats Old Bromley Road.
