How sad that this great day is no longer celebrated in England.  Such a lack of patriotism appalls me.  The country that used to be the greatest in the world, with so much history, which we here in Australia do not have, and St Georges Day passes by without hardly a mention.
I recall Empire Day at school (no holiday though) when we all had to wear something red, white and blue.  Where has the English sense of pride gone?

My husband's boss is English born, and every year he organises a St Georges Day exhibition at our Perth Convention Centre, with a display of all things English.

Thank goodness we have Australia Day Public Holiday complete with BBQs, parties and firework displays.
Born 1944 in Geraint Road.  Launcelot and Churchdown Schools.  Moved to Western Australia in 1988.
Two children, 6 grandchildren, 3 dogs, hundreds of snakes, spiders and lizards.
