Are you available to volunteer one day a week? Would you like to develop your skills and gain experience of working with a voluntary organisation? Are you interesting in helping people in your community?

We’re working in partnership with Advice Lewisham on a new Big Lottery-funded project to offer free advice and information to residents - and we need volunteers to make it possible. Advice Lewisham is setting up new Advice and Information Hubs where people can pick up advice and information, as well as support with making online benefit claims. Among other locations, new hubs are planned for our new community building - The Green Man at 355 Bromley Road, SE6 - and Downham Leisure Centre in Moorside Road, BR1.

Volunteers will be given free training and support. If you are interested in volunteering and would like more information, please contact the Advice Lewisham Co-ordinator, Kathy Wade, by emailing advicelewishamcoordinator@gmail.com.

There's an urgent need for more housing in Lewisham, London and across the country.

That's why we should be supporting the National Housing Federation's Yes to Homes campaign. The campaign is seeking a commitment from councils, councillors and MPs to deliver more of the right homes, in the right places, at the right price.

Apprenticeships are important to Phoenix and we offer a range of opportunities for young people in Lewisham to gain skills and real work experience. We are also able to offer opportunities in partnership with our contractors, Willmott Dixon: http://www.willmottdixongroup.co.uk/, Lakehouse: http://www.lakehouse.co.uk/ and Mulalley: http://www.mulalley.co.uk/.

This year, we have provided 23 apprenticeships together with our partners, for local young people. Please click on link: http://phoenixch.org.uk/jobs/apprenticeships/NAW2014.

Throughout National Apprenticeship Week 2014, we shared case studies from some of our current apprentices, spoke to colleagues to find out why 'apprenticeships are important to Phoenix', and hosted a range of events to celebrate the contribution and value that our apprentices bring.
